Memory of Sherri
Did
you ever meet one of those people who just stomped all over your heart
and left huge footprints? Well let me tell you that had you known Sherri
Leonard like the members of Survivors for Ovarian Cancer Awareness knew
her, you would be a changed person and, may I add, for the better!
That big infectious smile was instantly captivating. In spite of the fact
that she was constantly fighting for her life she was driven to help others.
Her wry sense of humor and her assertiveness when her intellect was challenged
was a joy to behold. No one , no matter how many letters they had after
their name, was going to put one over on Sherri.
Sherri was a fighter, a champion, not just for Ovarian Cancer but also
for Alzheimer's Disease and many other causes. She was there for anyone
who needed her no matter what time of the day or night. As long as that
little red car of hers ran, you had a ride to your doctor's office or whatever
you needed. She gave talks in the community, visited and comforted other
Ovarian Cancer patients and was totally dedicated to getting information
out to the general public and the medical profession as to the vague symptoms
of the very disease that was slowly but surely taking her life.
Always upbeat, never a complainer, always your friend, compassionate, dedicated
and energetic are just a few words that her friends would use to describe
her.
Her loving husband, Steve will love her forever!
Her children Vincent, Michael and Christina will also carry their love
for her in their hearts forever!
We will miss Sherri but she will always be with us in our hearts. She will
be our inspiration now and in the future!
Sherri, I know that Juanita is waiting in Heaven to meet you. I know the
two
of you will be great friends and as our angels in Heaven you two will show
us the way to continue to help others...
